I'm Omid Jamshidi – plenty of people know me as Omid57. This is where I write about human rights, justice and freedom, and whatever's been on my mind recently.

If fear means anything, it comes from me – it doesn't live in me.

Where I stand

Poster: Reza Pahlavi doesn't represent me! I am my own voice.

I'm my own voice

I've been on the front line for thirty years, and I don't accept Reza Pahlavi as my representative or my spokesperson. I don't belong to any party or group – I support whatever I believe is right, whoever it comes from.

No to war

Anyone who supports military action against their own country is simply repeating the tyranny we're trying to overcome.

No to the death penalty

I record where people are still being executed today – and I make sure those who've lost their lives to it are remembered.

What I stand for

Humanity
Humanity is my religion. It doesn't matter where you were born or what you believe – you're human first, and that's enough for me.
Justice
For more than three years I've been fighting racial discrimination in the German courts. Lots of people told me to let it go. I won't – I'm doing it for the next generation and for every victim.
Freedom
Since 1998 I've been speaking out for a free Iran – an Iran where nobody is imprisoned or executed for what they say.
Hope
As long as someone is standing beside us, nothing is lost. I want to give hope back to people who've stopped believing in tomorrow.
