I'm Omid Jamshidi – a lot of people know me as Omid57. This is where I write about human rights, justice and freedom, and whatever's on my mind lately.

If fear means anything, it comes from me – it doesn't live in me.

The scales of justice against the sun, with raised hands below

I won't stop until the wall of injustice comes down.

Where I stand

Poster: Reza Pahlavi doesn't represent me! I am my own voice.

I'm my own voice

I've been on the front lines for thirty years, and I don't accept Reza Pahlavi as my representative or my spokesperson. I'm not part of any party or group – I back what I think is right, no matter who's saying it.

Poster: Stop War – a peace dove over a tank

No to war

Anyone who backs military action against their own country is just repeating the tyranny we're trying to leave behind.

Graphic: a hangman's noose and a row of people

No to the death penalty

I keep track of where people are still being executed today – and I make sure the victims aren't forgotten.

What I stand for

Humanity
Humanity is my religion. It doesn't matter where you were born or what you believe – you're human first, and that's enough for me.
Justice
For over three years I've been fighting racial discrimination in German courts. Plenty of people told me to drop it. I won't – I'm doing this for the next generation and for every victim.
Freedom
Since 1998 I've been speaking up for a free Iran – an Iran where nobody gets jailed or executed for what they say.
Hope
As long as someone's standing with us, nothing is lost. I want to give hope back to people who've stopped believing in tomorrow.
